Name: Didderic Regis Comitus Quote: “Serve us with skill and distinction, Serve the First Estate with faith and wit, Serve the Ventrue with might and wealth. These are not empty statements to be repeated as ceremony; they are yours to live by. If not, they will be the ones you die by. Serve me, fledgeling, serve the Invictus, serve the Ventrue.” |
Comitus was (and many say still is) Prince of Haarlem for centuries when in the late 70's, he renounced this claim, and stated that instead, he would be Regent, his Domain counted as part of the Greater-Praxis of Amsterdam. The reason remains a mystery to many outside of the First Estate. But then again, the man himself is a mystery: All that is known of him by most people is that he is old. Rumors state he even fought in the crusades! As is the case with most such old beasts though, he isn't particularly approachable, and establishing anything resembling a factual report on the man's history seems virtually impossible. He makes only the rare public appearance in Amsterdam proper, preferring instead to lord over his subjects within Haarlem, many of whom are not counted as official citizens of the Praxis of Amsterdam, a fact which serves to further muddy the questions and answers regarding the reason for his denouncement of Haarlem's sovereignty in the 70's. Those who do meet him are often surprised by just how young he looks, and even more surprisingly: how young he acts. While he is no Carthian on the cutting edge of technology and fashion, he seems to understand modern mortal society, technology, and fashion in ways that many younger Elders seem incapable of. Despite his youthful appearance and attitude, there are moments when his eyes and demeanor show hints of his true elder nature. The scar that runs across his face over his left eye is always noticed, but rarely asked about or remembered. Quotes on the Damned: (leave yours)
